Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries 'still talking and texting' despite divorce

Despite filing for divorce, Kim Kardashian is reportedly still having regular chats and texting her estranged husband Kris Humphries. It appears the 31-year-old's request for a split has not resulted in contact between the two freezing over, according to Radaronline. On the contrary, it seems he may even be comforting her about the backlash she has received since the announcement was made.

A source close to the reality star said: 'Kim and Kris have spoken on the telephone, and are frequently exchanging text messages on their BlackBerrys. 'Kim is absolutely numb and was truly surprised and shocked at the backlash she has gotten since she decided to file for divorce.'But despite their contact friends say they doubt they will reconcile. 'It's highly unlikely that Kim would want to get back together with Kris. Kris is in Minnesota, and the more time that goes on,' the insider told Radaronline. 'Kim clearly sees that they are just two completely different people, that never should have gotten married.

And it also seems that despite earlier wanting to save his marriage, Kris might also be moving on. Even though Kris said earlier in the week he would do whatever it would take to save his marriage, he is now accepting that the relationship is over,' the source said. It was previously reported that Kim decided to cut short her money-spinning visit to Australia to deal with the fall-out of her divorce. The reality TV star pulled out of a lucrative appearance at an Australian horse racing event at the 11th hour and will jet back to the U.S. today.

She was set to attend the Swisse vitamins marquee at this Saturday's Stakes Day as part of Melbourne's annual spring carnival. The brunette was expected to earn more than $150,000 for the a one-hour appearance. But she told event officials today that she was scrapping the event from her schedule. She said: 'I am very disappointed that I am unable to attend the Swisse marquee but I hope to come back and work with the Swisse team at another point in time.'

A spokesman for Swisse told Melbourne's Herald Sun newspaper: 'All indications were that Kim wanted to fulfill all of her commitments once she landed in Australia but has obviously changed her mind given her very difficult personal challenges at the moment.'Kim flew to Australia earlier this week, just hours after filing for divorce from her husband of 72 days, Kris Humphries, 26.

The star was in the country with her sister Khloe to promote the family's new handbag line. She held up her commitments because she 'really didn't want to bail on everyone'. She gave her first television interview yesterday while in Sydney, but would only address the split in cryptic terms.

Asked by Sunrise breakfast hosts David Koch and Melissa Doyle on Thursday morning whether she fought to save the marriage, Kim responded: 'I think when you know so deep in your heart that you just to listen to your intuition and follow your heart, there's no right or wrong thing to do.'

When pressed on whether she had considered counselling, Kim clammed up: 'I'm not ready to get into it.'
Kim had more to say on the business front, and happily plugged her new handbag launch as she was interviewed alongside protective sister Khloe. Asked how she was coping, Kim said: 'I really wanted to stick with my commitment to come out to Australia. I love the fan base here. 'I did want some time to myself but I don't want to bale on everyone and skip out on this commitment here. 'I've got Khloe and Lamar here and we're just getting through it.'
